Pain
The feeling of numbness;
As though
The earth below your feet has just moved,
To suck you into it.

Withdrawal
Reflex effect to pain;
As though
The cat felt the heat
Of the hot milk on its tongue

Brood
About the things
That could have gone right.
And yet
And yet…..

Comprehend
That nothing could change;
The past has past.
Leaving trails of pain,
To remember.
